Karisa Marley is a native of the Pacific Northwest. She began art lessons as a child and continued through high school. While attending the University of Washington she focused her studies on Visual Communication Design and Art History. After graduation she worked hard as a graphic designer while creating art in her spare time. After work hours Karisa continued to study art with a focus on letterpress printing and photography along with wearable art experimentations. In 2012 Karisa began working for herself as a freelance designer so she could have the flexibility to raise her children and continue making art and designing.

Karisa currently lives and works in Seattle and continues to design for select clients while using the majority of her work hours to create art. She is currently focusing on abstract paintings and fiber art pieces related to themes inspired by motherhood, parenting and nature. When she is not painting she likes to spend her time exploring nature with her two children and husband.
